Why do you focus on the walk?
Because so many owners struggle to get their dog to walk nicely on the leash, and it can have a knock-on effect on everything else. When your dog understands how to walk nicely on the leash, the walk becomes enjoyable for both of you.
That means less stress and frustration, more walks, new places to explore and better behaviour at home and out in public.
Is my dog right for the Intensive?
This session suits most dogs who struggle to walk nicely on the leash, whether it's mildly annoying behaviour or completely over the top. Every booking starts with a short application, so I can check it's the right fit before you pay anything.
How long is the session?
Most will run for at least around four hours, but the exact length depends on your dog and how the day goes. We don't rush it.
Do you cover my area?
I'm based in West Yorkshire, but I'm more than happy to travel further for a session. If you're further away, still get in touch. It may be possible with an additional travel fee.
Do you work with reactive or aggressive dogs?
It depends. This session is about teaching your dog to walk nicely on the leash. It won't fix reactive or aggressive behaviour on its own. Having lived with a reactive dog and worked with them too, I know that takes more than one session.
Apply either way, and I may be able to help in other ways or point you in the right direction.
Do you use tools?
Yes. I get that some people are on the fence about tools. I was the same with my own dog. But used correctly and fairly, they're a great way to communicate with your dog, and I've found they're one of the best ways for everyday owners to teach their dogs too.
Before the session you'll also get my "Tools Done Right" guide, and on the day I'll show you how to properly use the right tool for your dog as a form of communication, not a crutch.
Do I need to buy any equipment?
Not beforehand. Tools aren't included in the price, so you can borrow mine for the day, use your own good-quality gear, or buy a take-home kit from me at the end of the session, once I've seen which tool suits your dog.
How do I book?
Start with the short application on the Leash Manners page. If it's a good fit, I'll send you a link to choose your date and pay a £50 deposit. The balance is due 72 hours before your session.
What if it doesn't work?
If you put in the work during the session, follow the Maintenance Plan for the 7 days after, and still feel things aren't right, I'll keep working with you for free until they are, or give you a full refund. Full guarantee terms here.
